The London Marathon

Sunday 21st April 2024

Assuming that you are able to run the shortest route, most people who complete the London Marathon will run, at least, an extra half a mile. However, the hardship suffered is minimal compared to those helped by their efforts; for many of them just getting through every day is a marathon. This year we have a determined and dedicated team of 12 running to our support the charity.

INSTARMAC are delighted to sponsor the 2024 WAAMAD London Marathon team. Giving something back is at our heart, and echoed in our company motto Work Hard, Have Fun, Make a Difference. INSTARMAC is a specialist manufacturer of cement and bitumen-based products for use in highway maintenance, urban regeneration, tiling, commercial flooring and internal finishing sectors.

We wish all the marathon team who are truly ‘Making a Difference’ the best of luck on 21st April in London! - www.instarmac.co.uk

WAAMAD is a wonderful charity who support so many people in so many ways. For example helping disabled people get involved in sport or allowing elderly people to enjoy special moments like Christmas. They truly make sure that every person they are aiming to help is at the centre of their approach and it is a honour to be running for them. They have already helped so many people and made such a positive impact on so many lives and so by raising money for them they are able to carry on providing support and opportunities for so many people.

I am very fortunate to be in a position to take part in the 2025 London Marathon and at the same time raise money for a very special charity “We Are All Making A Difference”.

I have on two previous occasions completed the London marathon and raised money for We Are All Making A Difference.

The Charity has no overheads and all the money goes to the beneficiaries.

I previously attended the cheque presentation and seeing the smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries who every day face challenges. Putting a smile on their faces makes the London marathon seem easy compared to what some children / families and adults go through every day of their lives.

On a personal level, I have two very young children and I sit often thinking I do not know and I hope will never know how families cope with poorly children and I really hope it will never happen to mine but I will equally do all I can to raise as much money to support those families who are facing this.

So please dig deep, every penny you donate you are making a difference.

Hi, I’m Tom! I’m 31 and from Shrewsbury... I have a little boy, 4 dogs and a wife somewhere in there amongst all the madness! I started running with 14 weeks notice to London Marathon 2023 and have been hooked ever since. In 2023 I completed 1,097km’s 10+ half marathons, the London marathon (also for WAAMAD) and many other events. This year, I’ll be competing in the London Marathon for WAAMAD once again, and then on to the Berlin marathon in September.

Aside from running, I’m a huge petrolhead and work with cars (and some bikes) every day of the week. When I’m not running or at work my wife & I will usually be found walking the dogs, eating, drinking or catching up on sleep from our 8 week little boy…

My name is Joshua Brown I am a 22 year old student studying in Sweden, I am running for “We are all making a difference" as they provide such a wide variety of support across every demographic and their help has been invaluable for everyone, especially for the organisation who do not have the ability to raise funds themselves.
